Lovemma's Review:

I was disappointed in this book and I think that I will be disappointed in this series. I just felt that the concept was a good one, but it missed it's mark. I felt that there could have been more to the story line, maybe adding some more background on both the hero and heroine. I didn't like the fact that this left a cliff-hanger, I thought that maybe she could have added the cliff-hanger as a chapter to the second book.

Overall, I thought the book was ok. The price was good for the story ($.99), and if the second is the same price, I would buy it.

Book Review: Nocturnes - Kendall Grey

Nocturnes (Hard Rock Harlots #3) - Kendall Grey

5 stars

Book Description:

NOCTURNES contains 511 F-bombs, 81 well-endowed male chickens, 65 girl kitties, 58 Richard the Lessers, 10 C-U-Next-Tuesdays, and a plethora of other colorful words and phrases that would deafen your virginal mother’s ears and make her bust out her “Shame on you!” finger. If you’ve been tuned in since the beginning of the Hard Rock Harlots series, you know the drill. The sex is extreme, the language is graphic, and the story is over the top. Prudes and under 18s need not apply.
WARNING: NOCTURNES addresses serious topics such as alcoholism, prostitution, and cheating. If you’re looking for a barrel of laughs or sunshine and rainbows, this is NOT the book for you.
Rax Wrathbone is the dirty rock star you love to hate. The filthy fantasy slithering through your bed sheets. The serpent in your lady garden. The snake bite in your panties that keeps you sweating all night. He. Is. Sex.
And he’s no good. For anyone.
After a nasty breakup with his best friend and their band’s drummer, Rax is flying solo for the first time in years. Who needs the drama of commitment when the line for your humping booth spans three city blocks? No, groupies and liquor are far finer company than relationships, and they don’t leave bruises after they've had their way with you. At least not lasting ones.
Rax’s new adventures as an alcoholic, guitar-slashing one-man show are going along swimmingly until the only woman who’s ever brought him to his knees shimmies down a pole back into his life. Eve doesn't abide excessive drinking, she has sex with strangers for a living, and she can’t remember Rax’s name to save her life.
She’s perfect in every way.
Now, if he could just get sober long enough to forget his past and convince Eve he’s worthy of her future…

Lovemma's Review:

I knew coming into this book that it wasn't going to be like the other two. This one is darker than the others. That being said, I absolutely loved this book.

I wanted to hate Rax for what happened in BEATS, but after this I just couldn't.

Rax has always been an asshole, but after turning to alcohol for his solutions, when he has a falling out with his best friend and band-mate, Rax meet's Eve who is having problems of her own. Eve works as a stripper/'Angel' at Nocturnes (they offer more than stripping at this club).

Although there is some serious sexual tension, that get's released in a not so pretty bow, Rax seems that he can't stay sober enough to have any relationship with Eve, or his band-mates. When forced to choose between alcohol or Eve, what will Rax chose?

I would recommend reading the other two books (STRINGS and BEATS) before reading this one in order to understand more about Rax and his mind. However, this book can ben read as a stand-alone and has no cliffhangers!! This is the last in the series.

Kendall Grey did a really great job with Nocturnes and showing that Rax, although a pain in the ass, can be happy too.

Sex Snob - Elizabeth Hayley

5 stars

Book Description:

Twenty-nine year old wild, carefree, and brutally sarcastic Amanda Bishop thought her three rules for dating would weed out unworthy suitors. And they did. Until she met Shane Reed, her smart-ass, sexy-as-sin CrossFit coach who pushes all her buttons. He’s the man she loves to hate. But when the hate begins to ebb away, and is replaced by feelings she can’t handle, Amanda hides behind her rules. Will the electric chemistry she feels with Shane allow her to get beyond a painful past, or will she push him away with her rules? Rules that make her the ultimate Sex Snob...This novel is a spin-off to our first book Pieces of Perfect, but can be read as a stand-alone novel.

Lovemma's Review:

I was able to get this book for free. :) When I first started reading it, I wasn't sure how this book as going to be, but right off the bat, I loved it. This book is funny, and sexy, and gahh, just good. I felt that the banter and the sexual tension between Amanda and Shane was great. And I really do wish there was some sort of CrossFit like that in my area, I would pay any price for the gawking, if a Shane Reed was there.

I would recommend this book to others and I would re-read this book again. This book can be read as a stand alone, but it is a "spin-off" of the author's first book Pieces of Perfect (which I will be reading soon). I just think that

Book Review: The Home Court Advantage - N.M. Silber

The Home Court Advantage - N.M. Silber

4.5 stars

Book Description:

Once upon a time, two lawyers fell in love across a courtroom... Gabrielle and Braden have fallen in love and face a bright future together if they can just survive all of the crazy people they encounter, like anonymous napkin droppers, UFO enthusiasts, crooked businessmen, nude drunk drivers, and a woman who tries to break into jail. When the gavel falls will the verdict be happily ever after?

Come join the fun as the sexiest couple in the Philadelphia Criminal Court System shares more witty banter and red hot lovin’ with a dash of mystery thrown in. The story that began with The Law of Attraction concludes with lots of love and laughter in The Home Court Advantage.

Lovemma's Review:

I absolutely loved this book. If you have not read The Law's of Attraction, then I wouldn't read any further. The Home Court Advantage (HCA) picks up where The Laws of Attraction stops. Still trying to figure out who wrote those notes to Gabrielle, both her and Braden try to move on to solve both the mystery (where they are sent to a UFO enthusiasts retreat) and plan for a wedding, all while trying to continue to do their job as public servants. While in court, you meet a gun-totting nun, a nude drunk driver, and chicken pecker among other hilarious cases.

I thought this was a good book, and I was giggling throughout. Although I loved the book, I didn't find it as funny as the first book. I still give it 4.5 stars since I did get hot during certain scenes and it left me smiling. I am truly a fan of N.M. Silber and I cannot wait for "Legal Briefs" out in 2014.
